TeXShop, which comes with MacTeX, and TextEdit do display Devanagari correctly, but you need to use an AAT font, not an OT font, in the text editor. There is one in Mac OS X : Devanagari MT.
Hello,

I have been using gedit on ubuntu (with scim method) to edit xelatex source files for indian language files fo far. Now, I have a new mac system and wanted to know what is the good editor for the same purpose. Default editors like Texedit etc dont seem to view the devanagari coded tex files.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks,
