I think it is OK to be able to change anything in font,... but then why should the designer spend a lot of time fine tuning his fonts if they will be changed anyway.<br>
The tilted hyphen is part of the look of the font; most probably there are many other differences you didn't notice yet.<br>

But agreed, it is not usual (or didn't I pay attention!!)<br>
