If you have the lucbmath package (it is part of recent Lucida Bright<br>
packages --- don't know how far back that goes) I've used<br>
<br>
\usepackage[expert,vargreek,lucidasmallscale]{lucbmath}<br>
<br>
and have gotten the type1 math fonts embedded.<br>
