Is it possible to get the bounding box of a glyph? If not, is it possible to add a XeTeX primitive to do this?<BR>

This information is very useful when typesetting Chinese (maybe also Japanese and Korean) full-width punctuation. For example, if we know the bounding box of the period mark is 243 523 558 742,<BR>then we can replace the period mark as<BR>
<BR>
[period mark]\vrule width -0.342em depth \z@ height \z@\hskip 0.342em<BR> <BR>The "\vrule...\hskip..." structure can gobble the blank space right to the glyph when it appears at the end of a line. As a result, we can align the line boundary.<BR>
