hebrew.ldf for babel, which replaces the encoding from LHE to EU2), and the PDF output from xelatex. Single english words are surrounded by correct parentheses (I guess this is a result of grouping the LTR chars, not mirroring) but longer phrases are not. I'm not even sure that LyX is generating correct parentheses in RTL text.
