<div>Possibly both. I had the impression that it was to be used as a logical line break. SubEthaEdit allows you to choose what kind of line endings to use and the Unicode LINE SEP is one of the options. I like to keep my documents as clean and un-marked-up as possible and using a proper line separator seemed like a good way to eliminate all those pesky little slashes.
