Howdy,

Interestingly, if I specifically set the mono font, via  \setmonofont{Latin Modern Mono}, spacing is fine.

Note: to call the otf versions by name under OS X I've copied the texmf-dist/fonts/opentype directory to ~/Library/Fonts.
