[XeTeX] r34804 fails to typeset a vertical Japanese, for which r34711 works fine

OK, I vaguely remembered that I added vertical support to XeTeX and
xdvipdfmx with help from JK several years ago, that might have
regressed during the XETEX code removal. I can take a look.
