[XeTeX] including page 1 of a one page .pdf different from the base file?

What's this "[page 1]" text that you're typesetting immediately after
the included PDF? I'd guess it's approximately 34pt wide in your current
font.
(If you meant to use the optional <page N> keyword argument to the
\XeTeXpdffile primitive, that doesn't take any square brackets, AFAIR.)
