You're right, sorry! (I was just looking at the dates of the texmf.cnf
files, not realising that tlmgr could "manage" that file as well.)

The XeTeX error, as found in the attachment debug3, is this:

	kdebug:kpse_normalize_path (./test2.tex) => 0
	(./test2.tex
	> 10.41pt.
	l.8 \setbox\tmp\hbox{\b aт}\showthe\wd\tmp

	?
	> 10.01pt.
	l.11 \setbox\tmp\hbox{\b at}\showthe\wd\tmp

	?
	> 8.31pt.
	l.14 \setbox\tmp\hbox{\b та}\showthe\wd\tmp

	?
	> 10.09pt.
	l.17 \setbox\tmp\hbox{\b ta}\showthe\wd\tmp

	?
	[1] )
Output written on test2.pdf (1 page).
	Transcript written on test2.log.

To me it does not look like "debug" output – but I can be wrong!
