Hi Josh, I can't reproduce this error with your file. You probably
need to update your distribution. -Alan

  I think you have an old version of qtree:
mine is Package: 2008/12/12 v.3.1bQtree: tree-drawing for linguistics)
  yours is Package: qtree 2006/07/10 v.3.1Qtree: tree-drawing for
linguistics

But more importantly, I think your problem is with your version of
pict2e which is loading a config file for dvips and not for xetex.
Notice that in your log file you get the following:

(/usr/local/texlive/2008/texmf-dist/tex/latex/pict2e/pict2e.cfg
File: pict2e.cfg 2004/06/25 v0.1r pict2e configuration for teTeX/TeXLive
)
Package pict2e Info: Driver file: dvips.def on input line 100.

(/usr/local/texlive/2008/texmf-dist/tex/latex/graphics/dvips.def
File: dvips.def 1999/02/16 v3.0i Driver-dependant file (DPC,SPQR)
)
Package pict2e Info: Driver file for pict2e: p2e-dvips.def on input
line 102.

(/usr/local/texlive/2008/texmf-dist/tex/latex/pict2e/p2e-dvips.def
File: p2e-dvips.def 2004/06/25 v0.1r Driver-dependant file (RN,HjG)
)

In mine (using TL 2009) I get the following:

Package: pict2e 2009/08/05 v0.2x Improved picture commands (HjG,RN,JT)

(/usr/local/texlive/2009/texmf-dist/tex/latex/pict2e/pict2e.cfg
File: pict2e.cfg 2009/08/05 v0.1s pict2e configuration for teTeX/TeXLive
)
Package pict2e Info: Driver file: xetex.def on input line 101.

(/usr/local/texlive/2009/texmf-dist/tex/xelatex/xetex-def/xetex.def
File: xetex.def 2009/11/22 v0.94 LaTeX color/graphics driver for XeTeX
(RRM/JK)

)
Package pict2e Info: Driver file for pict2e: p2e-xetex.def on input
line 103.

(/usr/local/texlive/2009/texmf-dist/tex/latex/pict2e/p2e-xetex.def
File: p2e-xetex.def 2009/08/05 v0.1s Driver-dependant file (RN,HjG,JT)
)
