Yes, /that/ worked! Earlier, I had tried Michiel's suggestion of 
Renderer=AAT /with/ Script=Syriac ... but without the Script=Syriac it 
works.


Curiously, the "Kashida" code you've given before, Jonathan, breaks the 
scripting. But that's a minor concern.
