You could have looked into the LOG file... (It's the right xetex.def
file.)

Anyway, with (TeX Live 2008)

	XeTeX 3.1415926-2.2-0.999.6 (Web2C 7.5.7)
	kpathsea version 3.5.7
Compiled with ICU version 3.8.1 [with modifications for XeTeX]
Compiled with zlib version 1.2.3; using 1.2.3
	Compiled with FreeType2 version 2.3.7; using 2.3.7
Using Mac OS X Carbon, Cocoa & QuickTime frameworks

and xdvipdfmx-0.7.3 I cannot reproduce your one pixel (or such) wide
white lines. By commenting the \usepackage{xltxtra} line I can also
compile with pdfTeX. This produces perfect output, because XeTeX
leaves a white row at the bottom – letter projected on an ISO A4
paper! Making xdvipdfmx use letter as paper format creates perfect
output, too.

TL '09 (patched) behaves similarly.

I am using Mac OS X 10.4.11 and a PPC processor.
