Howdy,

Also, the use of the non`-sys' versions (prefixed by sudo) seems to  
lead to all sorts of confusing behavior that takes too much time to  
figure out. I'll bet the ~/.texlive directory is now recreated ready  
to give rise to confusion at a later time.
