If you are going to use transparent text as a graphic
object,
use pgf/tikz package.  Text transparency is properly
supported
for the xdvipdfmx driver there.

AFAIK there is no package to support text transparency for
the
xdvipdfmx driver, so you have to use \special yourself.
Be sure to enclose all the text rendering mode changes
inside
gsave/grestore blocks.  The raw level stuffs may be found
