I'll just add, Pablo, that it's dead easy to use the TL2008 distribution
instead of the TL2007 that comes with your distribution. (Are you using
Ubuntu? Why oh why are they still distributing TL2007?) The only thing
is--and this is very important--do not accept the installer's offer to
put symlinks in /usr/local/bin. Instead, put this at the end of the
.profile in your own account:

PATH=/usr/local/texlive/2008/bin/i386-linux:$PATH; export PATH
MANPATH=/usr/local/texlive/2008/texmf/doc/man:$MANPATH; export MANPATH
INFOPATH=/usr/local/texlive/2008/texmf/doc/info:$INFOPATH; export INFOPATH

Failure to understand this in advance cost me hours of grief when I
tried to upgrade my distro.

Cheers,
Peter
