Howdy,

If you want at TeXShop kind of environment and simplicity of use try  
TeXWorks. The project is at <http://www.tug.org/texworks/> and you can  
get the binary for XP/Vista at <http://code.google.com/p/texworks/downloads/list 
 >.

Not a lot of documentation but it's in its evolutionary stage.
