[XeTeX] pdftex error

Well obviously pdftex can't use 8r.enc. This can mean that the file
isn't there, or at the wrong place or not in the filename database
or broken or locked in some way.

The first steps are: texhash and if this doesn't work: search if you
can find the file. 

8r.enc should be part of psnfss. You could also try to reinstall the
package. If this fails too: get 8r.enc from CTAN.
