[XeTeX] hyphenating words with a hyphen

Just for the case I have not described the problem clearly enough:
please have a look at the attached example and note the double hyphen
at line 7 in the PDF file.

As I have previously mentioned, there is no such problem in (pdf)latex,
because most fonts which contain an alternate hyphenchar glyph provide
a pseudo-ligature turning the hyphen + hyphenchar sequence into a single
hyphenchar.

Jonathan, would it be possible to do something with this?
