[XeTeX] XeTeX fails to notice smcp feature?

OK (self-suggestion). The Serlio otf file is indeed in ~/.fonts, and the
otfinst script does indeed install the smcp feature. So there are
definitely two versions. It seems that the system is choosing one of
these versions, and I recall that I can test and change this by
specifying an actual path to the filename for the font. I'll try to look
this up in the fontspec docs (anyone who has it off the top, for Serlio,
feel free to pass it along).

Getting closer to figuring this out...
