[XeTeX] xelatex math problem with sqrt

I tried 

\documentclass{article}

\begin{document}
$\sqrt{x^1_2}$
\end{document}

an Xelatex on miktex crash (also with option --no-pdf). It seems that
the three commands \sqrt, ^ and _ are needed for the crash. I will make
a bug report on the miktex site. 

This is XeTeX, Version 3.1415926-2.2-0.998.3 (MiKTeX 2.7).
