[XeTeX] fontspec + ExternalLocation

Hi,

for a project, I would like to use XeLaTeX with some OpenType fonts in
my personal texmf-tree (I do not wish to install them in the
systemwide font directories). The fontspec manual appears to say that
this is possible; unfortunately, I can't quite understand what it says
about it.

p. 7: "Bold and italic fonts cannot be automatically selected when
external fonts are being used; they must be explicitly declared using
the methods described in Section 3.3 on the preceding page."

I can get the main font by declaring

\setmainfont[ExternalLocation=/Users/tas/texmf/fonts/opentype/tas/
agaramond/]{AGaramondPro-Regular.otf}

But how do I add entries for the Italic, Bold, etc. variants?

p. 6: "\fontspec[BoldFont={Helvetica Neue}]{Helvetica Neue UltraLight}"

Where would I add the "ExternalLocation" here? Sorry if this is
obvious, but I'm lost here.

Thanks

Thomas
