[XeTeX] What is wrong with the new caption package

Hello all,

Does anyone know what happened to the good old 2003 version of the  
caption package? I recently downloaded from CTAN the 2007 version  
which is different in many aspects than the previous version. It uses  
different commands and its manual is awful ...

Do you know from where I can download the old 2003 version?
