In other X applications too: GTK apps and OpenOffice were unaware of
the bold file at all, despite fc-list's report of separate 'style=Bold'.
After the correction, the font appears in OOo generated PDF like this:
<</Type/FontDescriptor/FontName/CAAAAA+MicrosoftYaHeiBold
and works as expected.
