[XeTeX] "Missing" system fonts

Many thanks for help offered thus far. I strongly suspect that the
confusion of name between font family and specific font is indeed the
cause of my problem, and I am rebuilding all the fonts with more
appropriate names; when I'm done I'll see whether the issue has been
resolved (and post again).

Unfortunately the rebuild is proving more demanding than I
anticipated, as Adobe have totally changed the command line options
and even the behaviour of their Font Development Kit since I last used
it...
