[XeTeX] xetex 0.997 already released?

Christian Schenk simply took some SVN version (which already holds the
tag 0.997).

The second question can only be answered by the author.
Perhaps just before the TeXLive 2008 Release? :)

On Windows one can use Akira's binaries (or MikTeX that won't be
updated before 2.8 comes out) and on unix it's "easy" to compile it on
one hand, and on the other, hardly any linux distribution would care
to take the new version before new TeX Live is out.
