Still trying to follow up Bruno's suggestion about something non- 
European... if you're planning a babel for the future, why not name  
it in the language of the future, Chinese?

巴 別 (Chinese for "Babel") might be a good choice.

Pinyin transcription for Mandarin: babie
Transcription for Cantonese: babit

... and the characters mean "anxiously hope" and "other, separate;  
don't"...

So that might satisfy all tastes---a baby babel of the future, with  
only a bit of the old babel in it...
