[XeTeX] Some strange error on first run of Plain XeTeX with one OS 9 font

The output you showed indicates that this run did not use XeTeX, it  
used pdfeTeX: see the first line printed to the console. So that's  
why the font was not found; pdfeTeX doesn't know anything about your  
Mac OS fonts.

If subsequent runs work correctly, then presumably they *are* using  
XeTeX. Is it possible you did something different the first time? I'm  
not sure how you're running this... from Terminal, or within TeXShop,  
or what? If within TeXShop, there are several ways you can choose  
which typesetting "engine" to run... for files that should always be  
processed by XeTeX, I'd suggest including a "%!TEX TS-program =  
xetex" line at the beginning.
