Howdy,

I believe that the default math mode font is still Computer Modern.  
You can also use the euler package (that looks way too informal for  
my taste) or lucmath, the lucida new math fonts. I have no really  
good match for Minion Pro or Hoefler Text at this time.

By the way, Adobe Reader has Minion Pro embedded within it.
