[XeTeX] "I can't find the format file `xetex.fmt'!"

There is a problem in the current TeX i-Package which is related to XeTeX.
When the i-Package detects XeTeX during the first phase of an
install(which is written in the teTeX area so it will be removed on
install) it will disable XeTeX before removing it. Currently it removes it
by calling fmtutil and since it is running as sysadmin you get a
fmtutil.cnf in your ~/Library/texmf/web2c directory, owned by root. When
you change things later with fmtutil-sys this one is not changed, but it
may under circumstances be used nonetheless.

This file messes things up. It is a problem with the TeX i-Package in
relation to the changes in teTeX/TL.

Workaround (from the top of my head):

1. Uninstall XeTeX
2. Install TeX, choose expert
3. Choose system-wide configuration
4. Choose remove personal settings
5. Install XeTeX
