Hi Adam,

Indeed you are right, at the end of each sentence on expects a "full 
stop", and they are there in both examples (that is in the first 
paragraph in Persian, and the same for the second paragraph), and 
they correspond to the "period" obtained via an "Arabic" keyboard, 
that is they are nonroman punctuation marks.

So the problem to understand is why only one such punctuation mark in 
the sentence behaves in this way...
