Using TeXShop 2.x and XeTeX 0.94, if I typeset a document called 'LetterNote copy 1.tex' I get the following message in the TeXShop console and no pdf output:

This is XeTeX, Version 3.141592-2.2-0.94 (Web2C 7.5.3)
entering extended mode
(./LetterNote copy 1.tex [1]usage: xdv2pdf [-m mag] [-p papersize[:landscape]] [-v] [-o pdfFile] xdvFile
papersize values: a0/a1/a2/a3/a4/a5/a6/a7/a8/a9/a10/b0/b1/b2/b3/b4/b5/b6/b7/b8/b9/b10/c0/c1/c2/c3/c4/c5/c6/c7/c8/c9/c10/jb0/jb1/jb2/jb3/jb4/jb5/jb6/jb7/jb8/jb9/jb10/letter/legal/tabloid/ledger/wd,ht [in 'big' points or with explicit units]

If I rename the file to LetterNotecopy1.tex I get a PDF file (ie the file typesets) and this is in the console:

This is XeTeX, Version 3.141592-2.2-0.94 (Web2C 7.5.3)
entering extended mode
(./LetterNotecopy1.tex [1] )
Output written on LetterNotecopy1.pdf (1 page).

Does XeTeX not like spaces in a file name?

Puzzled. Thanks in advance for any insights.
