[XeTeX] Making a .fmt file using XeTeX

Well, I spoke too soon.

I began with this:

% sudo xetex -ini "&xetex" dumptest.tex

and ended up with dumptest.xfmt

which I:

% cp dumptest.xfmt /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.local/web2c/

and finally did texhash.

Kpsewhich now reports:

13:30 OSX /<5>web2c% kpsewhich *.xfmt
./dumptest.xfmt
./xelatex.xfmt
./xetex.xfmt
13:30 OSX /<5>web2c%

But it doesn't work, at least I have not been able to get it to work. Any thoughts?
