[XeTeX] Papersizes

I'm working in TeXshop. TeXshop can see the new 'engine' because it appears in the drop down menu that is at the top of the tex window, and works as expected when selected. Using the %&program=whatever format does not seem to work. Is this a TeXshop problem?
