Whatever convention works best.  Seems to me that using ISO country
codes is a lot less ambiguous than English language names, but you know
better than me, for sure :).

    which are quite long names, 

I don't believe that long names are a problem, these days.

    i'm afraid there will be not better solution until a long time...

I don't think there's any other option at present.
