That is perfect.

That is not with the .tfm.  Your tfm to font mapping seems to be
wrong.  Can you check your pdftex.map to see the line beginning with
mtgu?  You shall find something similar to:

 mtgu MTGU <mtgu.pfb

If you do not have this line, please add this to pdftex.map.  Please
check for the availability of mtgu.pfb.  If you don't have it, nothing
can be done.
