[Tugindia] why is tex so complicated?

Hello radhakrishnan,
Well sounds really interesting...:-)
I am new to latex and am yet to explore the comforts hidden.
My problem is just this...
I would like to have something like
a) Karnataka
b) Tamil nadu
c) Andhra pradesh
d) Kerala
I dont' want to type a,b,c,d i need autonumbering... how do i go about????
