Hello,

What I suggest is you download the following books (free!!!)

LaTeX Primer by Indian TeX Users Group - you can down load it from www.sarovar.org  or visit www.tug.org.in

You should download another book "Formatting Information" it is available at www.tug.org - to to TUG Boat Section. It is published as part of the last volume of the TUG Boat.

If you are alreading using a Word Processor (like word or word perfect) there is another book available. If you have installed TeX from the TeX Live cd it should be already in your doc subdirectory (as a pdf file - most probably).
