hi,

it took me sometime to decide on whether i'd put the question forward to
the list, but here goes :

i am a sometime user of TeX, using it to produce papers that contain some
amount of mathematical symbols. however, right now my father is getting his
feet wet in the process. the problem is that with me a soft copy of a
manual is always welcome. at his age, he feels that a book or something
similar will help him a lot. can someone point out resources - book(s), CDs
containing resource material that can be printed [am willing to purchase
it] and/or web resources to documents/tutorials that can be printed out ?
if you feel that this is Off-Topic, please do mail me offlist. i don't have
time to guide him through the process, and yet i feel that i should kindle
his desire to learn TeX.

thanking all members in advance
sankarshan
