One-Day Workshop on LaTeX on 27-01-2003
LaTeX is perhaps the only software used by foreign journals and book
publishers. Many of the Indian publishing companies, who do the
typesetting, work for foreign publishers also use this software. LaTeX is
free software in the sense that the source codes are also available
readily; this differentiates it from other freeware and proprietary
software. LaTeX has given impetus to the now growing Free Software
Foundation world over. Researchers and authors who wish to publish their
work in foreign journals need to submit their work in LaTeX so as to speed
up publication of their accepted papers. In this connection a One-Day
Workshop on LaTeX in St. Joseph's College is proposed to be held.

1. Date of the Workshop: Monday (27-01-2003).

2. Participants will comprise of students, research scholars, teachers and
others in educational institutions (both Arts & Science Colleges and

3. Participants will be provided tea, snacks and lunch.

4. Participants will be provided with a compact disc containing the
installable version of LaTeX and a 175-page book on LaTeX Tutorials.

5. The delegate fee is Rs. 250. Please send the crossed DD in favour of
