Please change the following line in pdfscrdemo.tex:

  \usepackage[slifonts,display]{texpower}

to:

  \usepackage[display]{texpower}

The slifonts option of texpower redefines fonts and makes everything
bigger. I got similar results when slifonts option was removed.
