[Tuglist] pass arg. to a command?

hi,

1)  How to pass arguments to latex commands. I need the following:

\newcommand{\mytt{arg}}{\texttt{arg}}

2)  In case if i need to pass more than one arg., how to do that.  

3)  Is there any search facility for the old archives of this list?
