I've got the response from the author (on Poedit's list): the default behavior of Poedit was fixed 14 months ago in 
	https://github.com/vslavik/poedit/commit/e7bce76a1b50dcd3af56993a745cf373b01aa715

but ... we have to wait for the next release if we don't want to compile from a development branch of the tool.
