​I have tried to build on OpenIndiana and it builds just fine:

$ ./wget --version
GNU Wget 1.19.1 built on solaris2.11.

-cares +digest -gpgme -https +ipv6 -iri +large-file -metalink -nls
-ntlm +opie -psl -ssl

Wgetrc:
    /usr/local/etc/wgetrc (system)
Compile:
    gcc64 -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DSYSTEM_WGETRC="/usr/local/etc/wgetrc"
    -DLOCALEDIR="/usr/local/share/locale" -I. -I../lib -I../lib
    -D_REENTRANT -DNDEBUG
Link:
    gcc64 -DNDEBUG ftp-opie.o ../lib/libgnu.a -lsocket -lnsl -lnsl
    -lnsl -lsocket -lsocket -lsocket
