[tlbuild] links changed in running installation after cross-compiling?

Hi,

After successfully cross-compiling TL with mingw yesterday,
I was very surprised today when my favourite shell told me "command not found:
latex". Turns out that in the bin directory of my TL installation, "latex" is
now a symlink to "pdftex.exe".

I'm quite sure I didn't mess with the installation myself, by stupidly copying 
the contents of inst/bin/i586-pc-mingw in my bin directory, since:
- there is no "latex" symlink in inst/bin/i586-pc-mingw anyway (?)
- there is no "pdftex.exe" in my bin directory.

So, I would suspect a problem with texlinks or the way it is called during 
cross-compilation.
