I didn't know that you can drop a PDF onto TeXworks will open it! I'm also on OS X but it never occured to me to do this. I'll try it later today. Thanks for the info!

- Iwan

What do you mean by "the program crash when it tries to open the pdf file"? Are you trying to open a PDF file using TeXworks? AFAIK, you cannot do this. That is, I don't think you can use TeXworks as a PDF viewer.
Strange. Are you sure TeXworks can't be used as PDF file viewer? On OS X it can, I just tried (ie dropping a random PDF file onto it). There are some warnings issued to the console, but they're harmless and the user doesn't see them, I only saw them because I opened Console.app to check:
That said, the original poster's request was different and mentioned compiling (a .tex input file in the Source window most likely), generating PDF output and then attempting to open this output (in the Preview window most likely):
I try to use texworks in levono x200t with winxp2. However I meet "memory could not be read" error. Texworks compiles correctly, and can generate the pdf file. The program crash when it tries to open the pdf file.
Though not 100% sure, I would interpret this as normal TeXworks operation: open an input file in the Source window, typeset it and then view the result in the Preview window. And interpret the bug report as "memory could not be read" error, followed by program crash, when the Preview window is opened.
