Hello,

Concern: xelatex with dvi viewer.

I installed a new computer (intel nuc5i5ryh) with Ubuntu 15.04 ,
texlive2014, and texworks (this configuration worked for years with an
old computer, os, texlive and texworks).

Here is the problem (console output xelatex and texworks):

Running xelatex in terminal has no problem but produces a .pdf_file, not
a .dvi file.

Here is thetex test file:

\documentclass{article}

\usepackage{fontspec}

\usepackage{polyglossia}

\setdefaultlanguage{french}\setotherlanguage{german}

\setmainfont{texgyrepagella-regular.otf}[]

I cannot find how to make changes in texworks configuration (perhaps
tell it to take xpdf or similar) to open the file,
or give xelatex the option to produce a .dvi file.
And what happens in the first case with document synchronisation?

Even if one suppresses in the texworks configuration "show pdf file", it
crashes with the same fault.

One final remark: at the installation of texlive i had the symlink
button active. But all the
terminal tests (as described in the texlive installation manual) did
work fine.

Kind Regards from Luxembourg,
