[texworks] include .eps figure

I am compiling a file coming from pc-tex under windows
I have problem with including .eps figure

I have used the command
\usepackage{graphicx, epstopdf}

but I still get 
the error

LaTeX Error: Unknown graphics extension: .1.eps.
