So it seems that "English (built-in)" behaves like "OS default"  
instead of "English", if I understand correctly. Maybe it would be  
better to separate the two, namely have two choices "OS  
default" (using the OS locale if any and English otherwise) and  
"English" (enforcing English irrespective of the OS default) in  
TeXworks' Interface locale pref.

Regarding OS X, it's a pity that along the way (with Panther or Tiger,  
I'm not sure) the ability to select a locale per each application (in  
the application's Get Info window in the Finder) has been abandoned  
and that only the locale selected for all applications in the  
International system pref panel remains.
