I presume that you are using MS Windows. During your install you will have installed a program "TeXworks editor". This is a front end to many of the programs and utilities in the distribution. Alternatively you could install TeXstudio (<a href="http://www.texstudio.org/">http://www.texstudio.org/</a>) which is perhaps a little easier to use (personal opinion!!). My notes "Applied LATEX for Economists, Social Scientists and Others" (<a href="https://ideas.repec.org/p/tcd/tcduee/tep0214.html">https://ideas.repec.org/p/tcd/tcduee/tep0214.html</a>) are a little dated but you might find them useful. <br><div class="gmail_extra"><br clear="all"><div><div class="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div>John C Frain<br></div>3 Aranleigh Park<br><div>Rathfarnham<br>Dublin 14<br>Ireland<br><a href="http://www.tcd.ie/Economics/staff/frainj/home.html" target="_blank">www.tcd.ie/Economics/staff/frainj/home.html</a><br>mailto:<a href="mailto:frainj@tcd.ie" target="_blank">frainj@tcd.ie</a><br>mailto:<a href="mailto:frainj@gmail.com" target="_blank">frainj@gmail.com</a></div><div><br></div></div></div></div></div></blockquote></div></div></div>
